Autism is a lifelong condition that affects how individuals perceive their surroundings and interact with others. Commonly known as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), it encompasses a wide range of symptoms and severity levels, making each person’s experience unique. While autism itself is not classified as a learning disability, it is important to note that around half of those diagnosed with autism also have a learning disability.

Individuals with autism often face challenges in communication and social interaction. They may struggle to understand and use language effectively, which can hinder their ability to follow classroom instructions and participate in group activities. Social interactions can also be difficult, making it challenging to build and maintain relationships.
